VICKI JONES

Bachelor of Combined Arts (English and Drama) 

Vicki has been working in communications and marketing for over 30 years. She relishes the variety of shifting between strategic thinking, creative ideas and the hands-on demands of putting a plan into action. 

Originally from England, Vicki started in graphic design agencies in London, developing account management skills with clients such as Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Jones Lang Wootton and Abbey National. 

A role in business development followed, in an agency known for high profile annual reports and a strong brand portfolio, including Whitbread and Gatwick Express. 

Moving to New Zealand in 1999, Vicki was Brand Specialist at New Zealand Post in Wellington before moving to Hamilton in 2000 to join Verdict Communications.  

Over 17 years at Verdict, Vicki grew to be a familiar face to comms and marketing teams in Hamilton, from AgResearch, Wintec, Waikato Regional Council, DeLaval and Tainui Group Holdings to a plethora of businesses across the city.  

In 2017, Vicki began freelancing, further honing her communications and storytelling skills for clients including The Waikato Story, Company-X, and in local government. She later joined Waikato District Council full-time before the opportunity to join HMC tempted her back to agency life. 

Vicki lives in Hamilton with her husband and daughter. She is addicted to cooking shows, loves a good quiz night and enjoys uncoordinated attempts at Zumba.
