Nicola Martin
Nicola is communications professional skilled at finding an organisation's story and telling it in ways that connect with their communities and inspire them to act.
For 15 years Nicola worked as a print journalist for community, regional and national newspapers both in New Zealand and overseas. She has a talent for finding a good story and has covered rounds from business to local government and legal affairs.
Her first love has always been storytelling. Making the complex easy to understand and finding the hook that draws people in.
Nicola made the transition to communications 12 years ago and has worked in project-based communication roles for Waka Kotahi and local government with a focus on infrastructure and environmental projects. Most recently she has worked in freelance and contracting roles, balancing work with her young family.
When she's not at her laptop you can usually find her in the kitchen testing new recipes or at the beach in Matarangi, where she lives with her husband and three daughters.
