HMC Communications named as PRINZ award finalists
Hamilton public relations company HMC Communications has been named as a finalist in the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand's (PRINZ) annual awards.
The PRINZ Awards are in their 41st year and comprise 12 categories, ranging from corporate and government public relations campaigns, to limited budget and not-for-profit categories.
HMC Communications is a finalist in the 'Sustained Public Relations' category for its work on the Buddy Day campaign.
Buddy Day is New Zealand's only public awareness event focused on child abuse prevention. The concept was developed by HMC for its client, Child Matters, in 2010. Buddy Day is now in its fifth year.
HMC communications director, Heather Claycomb, said, "Being a PRINZ award finalist is a real honour. It's a great endorsement from our peers in the industry that we've done quality work. Plus, our team loves Buddy Day because we're using our communications skills to ultimately make a positive difference in the lives of New Zealand children."
This is the third time HMC Communications is a finalist in the PRINZ Awards. It won the not-for-profit PRINZ award category in both 2011 and 2013.
Category and supreme award winners are announced at the PRINZ Annual Conference gala dinner on Thursday May 21.
